Position: Barista / Customer Service Team

Reporting: This position reports directly to the Owners

Hours: Part time – Full Time

Pay: position starts at $16.55 and depending on experience / performance can raise to $18 an hour

Job Summary:

Are you passionate about crafting the perfect cup of coffee and providing exceptional customer service? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? If so, The Haven is looking for a talented and enthusiastic part-time Barista to join our team!

As a small business you will wear many hats including food prep. There is potential for more food prep for those experienced / interested in more food work!

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty drinks, following established recipes and quality standards.
• Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment with precision and care, ensuring consistent quality in every cup.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar and workspace, including regular cleaning of equipment, countertops, and serving areas.
• Handle cash and card transactions, process orders accurately using a POS system, and reconcile sales at the end of each shift.
• Assist in restocking inventory, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies, to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Collaborate with team members to provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barista or in a customer service role, preferably in a cafe or coffee shop setting.
• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, including espresso extraction, milk steaming, and latte art.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary:

• $16.55-$18.00 per hour
